Maple Cookies Recipe

Maple-flavored brown sugar cookies are soft and chewy. Maple sugar cookies with a spiced sugar covering and creamy maple glaze. 

Maple Cookie – 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter – 2½ cups (300 g) all purpose flour – 1 teaspoon cornstarch – 1 teaspoon baking powder – ¼ teaspoon baking soda – ½ teaspoon salt – ¾ cup (150 g) light brown sugar – ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar – ¼ cup (49 ml) maple syrup – 1 large egg, room temperature – 1 large egg yolk, room temperature – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon maple extract Cinnamon Sugar – ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar – 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon Maple Glaze – 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar, sifted – 3 - 4 tablespoons (45 - 60 ml) maple syrup – 1 - 2 tablespoons (15 - 30 ml) melted butter

Melt the butter in a small bowl and let it cool for about fifteen minutes in the refrigerator.

Mix the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt thoroughly in a separate basin.

Mix the cooled melted butter, light brown, and granulated sugars in a large bowl. Egg, egg yolk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract should be mixed well.

Pre-heat the oven to 375 F (190 C) for 20–30 minutes before baking the cookies. Cover a large baking sheet with parchment. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes while the oven heats.

Small cinnamon-sugar bowl. In spiced sugar, roll maple sugar cookie dough with a medium cookie scoop (2 tablespoons, 30 ml) and arrange 3 inches (8 cm) apart on the baking sheet.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the cookies' centers are slightly puffed and the edges are firm, at 375 F (190 C).

Make maple syrup glaze as cookies cool. Whisk melted butter, maple syrup, and powdered sugar in a bowl until smooth.
