Gingerbread Doughnuts With Orange Ginger Glaze Recipes

What's Christmas without gingerbread?  Ginger smells great at home.  I'm making orange ginger glaze gingerbread doughnuts to celebrate.  Ideal for Christmas morning breakfast or December snacks.

–  2 cups all-purpose flour – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1 teaspoon ground ginger – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Ingredient

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar – 1 large egg – 1/4 cup molasse – 1 cup whole milk – 2 tablespoons melted butter

These doughnuts have festive winter flavours and a warm, cosy scent from ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Non-stick spray a doughnut pan and set aside. For Doughnuts.  Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a medium basin.  Set aside.

Mix brown sugar, egg, molasses, and milk in a small bowl.  Whisk in melted butter. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until incorporated.  Do not overmix.

Fill doughnut wells 2/3 full with batter.Bake 8-10 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.  Fully cool doughnuts before glazing.
