Crockpot Pork Carnitas Recipe

Crockpot pork carnitas are simple and delicious. Weeknight dinner simplicity!

INGREDIENTS 

SERVINGS: 8 SERVINGS – 4 lbs boneless pork shoulder – 2 teaspoons salt – 1 teaspoon pepper – 2 teaspoons ground cumin – 1 teaspoon chili powder – 1 teaspoon dried oregano – 4 cloves garlic , minced – 2 oranges , juiced – 1 lime , juiced

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix salt, pepper, ground cumin, chili powder, and oregano in a small bowl. Rub the mixture on pork shoulder.

Step 1

Put pork shoulder, orange juice, and lime juice in the crockpot. Top with minced garlic.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 

Step 2

Cook 8-10 hours covered on low. Take off the lid and shred pork with two forks.

Step 3

Prepare oven to broil. Shredded pork on an aluminum-foil baking sheet makes cleanup easy. I like adding a few tablespoons of crockpot juice to the shredded pork.

Step 4

Brown edges with 5-10 minutes of broiling. Enjoy your favorite toppings on flour or corn tortillas.
