Baked Mozzarella Sticks Recipe


Baked mozzarella sticks are less fat and calorie-laden than fried ones. These are great kids' snacks and appetizers.


SERVINGS: 24 MOZZARELLA STICKS – 12 part skim mozzarella stick – 2 egg whites* – 2-3 tbsp flour – 1/4 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumb – 1/4 cup panko bread crumb – 1 tbsp parmesan cheese – 1 tbsp dried parsley – **Optional - Marinara sauce for dipping



Cut all cheese sticks in half and freeze for 20–25 minutes to harden. Avoid skipping this step to prevent cheese from melting everywhere!


Step 1

Meanwhile, heat the oven to 400 degree. Arrange parchment paper or silipat mat on a baking sheet.


Step 2

Spoon 2-3 tablespoons flour into a small bowl. Whisk egg whites lightly in another bowl.


Step 3

Mix the breadcrumbs, panko, parmesan, and dried parsley in another bowl until combined.


Step 4

Take frozen cheese sticks out. First, flour each cheese stick and shake off excess. Replicate with egg white and breadcrumb mixtures.


Step 5

Spray the baking sheet with oil and place all the cheese sticks. Take the cheese sticks out of the oven, flip them, and bake for another 4-5 minutes. 


Step 6

They can easily burn or melt, so watch them. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
